Exeloo Unveils Cutting-Edge Public Restroom in Saratoga, California

16 Sep 2025

This new Exeloo unit in Saratoga, California, has been officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It’s a state-of-the-art, self-cleaning Exeloo public restroom,a double Jupiter unit with two restroom cubicles and a dedicated storage room.

We were proud to play a part in the enhancements to the Historic Saratoga Village Downtown area. This project is part of the City’s investment of $7.2 million in American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds, which are being used for stormwater management improvements and rehabilitation of the Village Parking Districts.

In addition to enhancing water quality in Saratoga Creek, the project brings modern features to the restroom amenities, like self-cleaning capabilities, automatic doors, touchless sensors, and remote monitoring, to improve operational efficiency, cleanliness, and safety for all users.

The opening event drew a distinguished crowd, including the Mayor and all City Council members, along with representatives from the Public Works and Maintenance teams. Numerous local business owners and residents also attended, showing a very high level of interest in the new automated Exeloo restroom. As the first Exeloo unit in this community, the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the excitement for such innovative facilities.

What particularly impressed the City was the prefabrication and easy installation process of the Exeloo unit (shown in the photos below). Despite the challenges posed by the ground conditions, proximity to the local creek, and the area's earthquake zones, which required a bit more engineering than usual, the actual installation was remarkably straightforward taking just two weeks.

The choice of Futurewood finish for the cladding was especially well-received, adding a durable and appealing touch that complements the overall design with the added benefit of vandalism prevention. This new addition not only elevates the functionality of public spaces but brings convenience to this vibrant community.
