Two Winners of Kiwi Encounter Experience

8 Nov 2018

Congratulations to Jeremy Wichman and Rob Sinclair who have each won a Kiwi Encounter Experience for two at the Rainbow Springs Nature Park in Rotorua.

The prize carries with it two passes to meet and greet one of our National Icons along with one nights accommodation at the Sport of Kings Motel in Rotorua.

Kiwi can live from 25 to 50 years and have very small feathers that bear a strong resemblance to fur. Kiwi have whiskers like a cat, bone marrow like humans and is the only bird with nostrils at the end of its beak.

Feral predators such as stoats, ferrets and weasels as well as cats and dogs remain the Kiwi's greatest threat with only 50% of wild Kiwi chicks living to adulthood.

With the help of sponsors and a generous public the Kiwi hatchery at Rainbow Springs provides a safe environment for Kiwi chicks until they are ready and able to defend themselves in the wild.  Exeloo is proud to have partnered with the Kiwi hatchery team as we continue to seek ways to protect our very unique and very important natural heritage.  Something that all New Zealanders can be proud of.

A special thanks to Helen, Emma and the team at Rainbow Springs and to all hose that participated in our promotion.  Stay tuned to find out new ways to help us help a true national treasure.
